Freakozoid’s Weblog

MSN rawks! :@

felicia, you are so right about msn being one of the most important inventions XD

been msn-ing the whole night since i came home around 9 after training for napfa and playing basketball with friends in school. reason? all of us have an fyp update report due on friday of which we are all stressing ourselves over.

came home, plumped my ass onto my chair in front of my laptop and started spamming around what was needed to be written in the report to my partner and 2 other friends. and that was 9pm, and i had not had my dinner yet..zzz..suddenly the feeling of stressing myself out came back, like i had so much things to do and stuff. and when that happens, usually 99% of the time im thinking too hard.darn.sometimes i just love the feeling of being darn busy.

28/7 – sore throat!darn!

been sometime since i updated this blog(i know, i know..) been busy and just pure lazy i guess..so here’s some update..:

- i’m sick! yea too much calbee prawn crackers eaten during a one hour proteomics lecture..just kept munching and munching on it. darn sore throat. and it was probably due to this too:

ayam peynet ($5)

had this with aloysius and friend at a coffee shop at jurong east central on wednesday..not to my liking though. rice too wet, chicken meat too dry. ’nuff said.

EDIT: no its not a big char siew bun, its rice with a drop of chilli there. *rolls eyes*

had to go over to chinese gardens area to buy 2 lamps for my fyp project.and got ripped off there(i think ; i’m 99.9% sure i am). bought 2 lamps at $25..EACH! how freaking expensive can that be?!luckily i brought my allowance, otherwise sure no $$$ to pay for it.sigh.specified by supervisor go chinese garden there somemore.oh well, i’m subsidised for that so overall, i wont need to pay a single freaking cent for this overpriced lamp.no mood and $$$ to buy dinner, so came home and cooked my favourite thing to eat when im sick:

campbell soup! yum.

and last of all, to the dear, kind furly who is probably the only living soul who read my blog ( XD ):

well don’t be surprised to see your name here =] yea its saddening that botak jones raises its prices, but then again, i wldnt be surprised..heard ikea cafe charges i think either 30 or 50 cents for extra sauce or jam. that sucks.

blahs and blahs..

gahhhh! im now close to 70kg.. T.T just weighed today after exercising at sports complex after classes.

thus im planning to go on a diet..im serious. 70 kg for a guy who’s at most 167-168cm tall means im overweight(at least in my context). so im gonna cut down on all the sweet stuff i’ve been taking in like crazy(i.e. lemon barley and wintermelon teas) and all those snacks.probably gonna exercise more since napfa’s coming again anws.

gonna go gym exercise tmr morning then go school for proteomics tutorial.i want eat the chicken salad from atrium again! haha XD

some photos from 3M01 class outing @ clementi kbox on tues:

me and our damn fun lecturer-cum-mentor XD

randomness: i love evonne 许慧欣’s new album/EP~! =P

monday’s slightly blue..

start of a new week again..sigh..

today went past quite quickly i would say, lessons all ended early..and i finally managed to get the DJ Max Portable 2 game onto my psp! lol haha..also got Burnout Dominator from hansel. burnout is quite a nice racing game, kinda like fast and furious. XD

went to get a new casing for my harddisk, went to pk computers @ jurong point based on recommendation on jie ren, but turns out the cheapest casing they have there is $25. one word: ouch. if i buy that its seriously gonna burn a whole in my pocket. went over to cyberactive instead and got one for $12, slightly more than half that price..phew. but now end up somehow the wire connecting the harddisk to the computer not working, end u laptop cannot recognize usb..darn it!

sigh..end up probably tmr after i come home thn go over cyberactive ask and see if can change wire or something. tmr’s got to go back to school hand in the stupid stats assignment, and thn got class outing also =) but heard got quite alot of ppl not going..ppl like ann, kym, teng hon, clara not going, then some also not sure..later end up only got us guys plus organizers plus mentor thn very sianx liao..sigh..tmr thn see hw ba!

=.=

i wonder if im really clumsy or just plain darn unlucky..because just when i wanted to use my external harddisk to watch full metal panic: the second raid, i found this happened:

that’s my harddisk with the metal big where the firewire is plugged in..somehow, it just broke off.. T.T

thought i had to get a new harddisk but then realised it was just part of the casing, so i wld just need to get a new casing.. phew..big price difference..$10 for casing versus $100plus 200 for new harddisk..and considering im like totally broke now..sigh..

anyone got any job offers on weekends only?cant work weekdays unless its at nights only..anyone knows feel free to comment here and let me know!

darn dumb ulcer on my lower lip..and on all days it just so happened that my mum cooked chicken wings for dinner..seems like the world is a little against me eh? darn.

be gone, ulcer.

botak jones @ bukit batok..

had dinner after fyp and classes yesterday at the botak jones at bukit batok, near the bukit batok interchange, with john. had the fish burger set with an extra order of coleslaw and fries. turns out now their fries if want extra need to add $1, as compared to last time when there wasnt a need to top up. oh well, guess it was only a matter of time b4 the price increased. amazingly, botak jones sells up to 22tonnes of fries a month(according to a notice by them). but then again, considering the amount of fries in each plate, and how many outlets they have, it really isnt surprising.

(wish i had pictures, but didnt get to take any.)

spent my day slacking around, watching full metal panic: the second raid. not sure how many people know of this anime, but its really good, serious and funny at the same time. wanted to download dj max portable 2, but with it being 1.5gb and with only 5 seeders, think it would probably take me at least a week to download it,might as well wait for hansel to pass it to me. zzz.

just came back from dinner @ jurong point with parents. as usual on weekends, the population present at jurong point seemed to be: 10% singaporeans, and the rest being taken up by chinese/indian/bangladeshi national workers. it was that bad. the queues at the maybank ATM seem to stretch on forever. sigh. morale of the story? never go jurong point on weekend evenings.

had mos burger as it seemed like everywhere else was too darn crowded. had an ebi rice burger set with a small ice milk tea which barely filled me. should have upsized the drink to at least a medium. saw a jacket at Fox, thought of buying since its $59.90 b4 40% discount, but mum said colour not nice, so didnt get it. want to buy lots of stuff..darn it.

PS: thanks for commenting felicia, appreciate it! XD

ramblings..

right now in my school lab with nothing much to do while waiting so i thought i would blog here about some stuff yesterday..

had to come back to school lab to prepare some samples for today, took only about 1hour, then went to jurong point to get a haircut, since my hair was getting thicker. then, as i walked around the basement i came across something:

the japanese street at jurong point was opened already! XD so of course i decided to take a walk inside and have a look..

basic outlook of the area, it isn’t very big and doesnt have many restaurants yet, but it’s unique in the sense that these are stalls u most probably would not find in every shopping mall. right now, there are around 5 eating areas, namely:

- kuriya fish market, selling a lot of types of fish and seafood commonly and uncommonly seen in japanese cuisine, such as swordfish and salmon.

- kushin-bo, the japanese buffet restaurant with a wide variety of cold and hot food. went to the one at suntec city mall last time, and the food were good, especially the alaskan king crab..*yum*

- tori-q, one of the common yakitori stalls that can be found quite commonly in shopping malls in orchard such as paragon and takashimaya.

- yaki yaki, never heard of it but from the name, think should be a higher class yakitori restaurant, probably similar to Shin Kushiya at Vivocity.

- a ramen shop that i forgot the name, setting looks abit like ajisen, but there was limited seating space there, quite small.

being on a slight budget this past week, i decided to go try to sushi being sold at the kuriya fish market, and i bought these:

from left: unagi ($0.90), ebi sushi ($0.90) hotate sushi ($1.20), unagi handroll ($2.10)

sorry for the unflatering picture btw..i want a new camera. T.T . for people looking for pictures of salmon and tuna sushis, sorry but i didnt buy them cos i somehow don’t like raw fish. anws:

-unagi: tastes better than the ones outside, as the unagi doesnt taste fishy and is well-grilled. rice, as for all the sushi and handroll above, do not smell very strongly of the vinegar used to make the rice stickier and more flavoured, allowing us to taste the original flavour of the rice, and not too sticky also.

- ebi: the prawn meat is more solid and doesnt tear off too easily.

- hotate: flavour-wise, it tastes as if its been marinated in vinegar, smell of vinegar on the hotate abit too strong. but other than that, the scallop meat is quite juicy and solid.

- unagi handroll: the seaweed is very crispy and well-flavoured, and the side ingredients such as the cucumber strands placed inside give an added flavour to it. my favourite of all. =)

overall cost: $5.10. price-wise quite reasonable for good sushi.

good food!!! yum~

today is my sis’s 22nd birthday, so got to eat quite alot of nice and good food thanks to her XD

had for lunch my mum’s 猪肝瘦肉面线, or pig liver and lean pork meat mee sua..mum’s standard dropped a little already, but still very nice! then had stuff like cola wings(a weird request from my sis =.=) and steamed prawns, then b4 that was at vivocity helping to buy a cake for her, had a craving for starbucks, so went over and bought a  dark moccha frappucino!seriously good, although its a little expensive at $7.40 for a medium sized one. but still its goood….lol.

bought an ‘awfully chocolate’ cake from vivocity for my sis, all-chocolate at 1/2 kg for $25.80, which is really good and quite worth it,bought her a giant pack of tim tam chocolate biscuits for her birthday present..i know sounds cheapskate la,but still i oso dunno what to buy her anws, food is still the best thing to buy..no wonder one of the aunt on my dad’s side used to give me the same brand of chocolate every year for, like, 3 years. o.O

had a more simple dinner tonight with some leftovers from afternoon and fish and my mum’s favourite dish to cook, fried egg with prawns, one dish she tends to cook almost every weekend.

my ex-girlfriend jacq asking to meet up next wk for dinner/pool..dunno whether to accept or reject..somehow thinking about it now, it makes me feel very weird, but i dunno..i dun want to see her,yet i know that if i dun meet her and know hw’s she getting along, i will tend to be guilty for how it ended..argh. give me some opinion pls.. =(

nag, nag ,nag.. =.=’ll

mum nagged at me last night, and no, this time it wasnt abt studies, exams, results, room being untidy, spending too much time on my laptop etc..but rather this time was abt my cooking..

=.= ’ll

why, u may ask?

well, its because in a spur, i decided to go ntuc buy squid to cook pasta with. its not the usual long ones, its more like baby squids..$2 for one big pack.so basically my mum nagged at me asking me why i chose to buy squid, as supposedly its damn hard to clean. lots of work has to be done on cleaning b4 it can be cooked. true,it was a little troublesome because of the ink and somehow there’s something like a piece of plastic in every squid which has to removed.and the heads of the squid have to be scrubbed etc. so my mum was nagging and nagging..

haix..dun let me experiment around, how wld i know how to cook it next time anws..besides its not the first time i cooked squid, just the first time she saw me eating it in my sphagetti..=P

darn im jealous of the way in which my class people can spend their money. went along with some of the guys in the class to Sim Lim Square, they going to collect pay from working at the last IT fair at Suntec, me going over to look for a new Sony Ericsson headset. walked around awhile, then went on to Bugis, got a drink and some snacks, and went over to the Adidas shop. there, one of them bought a shirt which was $62 dollars(b4 30% discount though, end up ard $43), even though it wasnt exactly his size.i there stunned..

damn..so jealous..i also want to be able to spend money like that! i want new harddisk! new headphones! $$$ to upgrade my laptop! argh. want upgrade disk space and if possible RAM..but now broke, just passed $100 to my mum for my laptop..darn it!!!
